LAWMA celebrates 2016 Christmas Carol
The Management and Staff of Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) recently observed this year’s Christmas Carol and End of the Year Thanksgiving service to appreciate God for His blessings on the agency in the outgoing year.
The Executive Chairman of LAWMA, Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejokun, in his testimony acknowledged the hands of God on the affairs of the Authority, especially in granting safety to myriads of LAWMA workers working tirelessly to ensure that every nook and cranny of the state is clean. He made particular mention of the risk faced by sweepers on the highways and the fact that, it has been through divine protection that there has not been any accident throughout the year.
Adejokun stated that in spite of the challenges he had encountered since assuming office as the Executive Chairman, the grace of God had enabled him and the Management to steer the agency forward. He prayed for more of God’s blessings on the Authority and her workers.
Venerable Femi Taiwo, the Presiding Chaplain, Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, speaking on the theme of the program, ‘Faithful Ambassador’, admonished the congregation to add the fear of God in all of their endeavours so as to attract divine blessings. He prayed that the Lord would continue to bless the LAWMA Management and Staff in their quest to move the agency to higher heights.
The 1st Bible reading of the day was taken by the Assistant General Manager, Admin and Human Resources, Mrs. A. I. Shobowale, who represented the General Manager; while the 2nd Bible reading was taken by the AGM, Engineering Services, Engr Ayotunde Amodu.
The program also featured special prayers for the Authority, Lagos State and Nigeria at large.
Highpoint of the event was the lively rendition of evergreen Christmas carol songs and hymns by LAWMA’s Emmanuel Chapel Choir as well as the children choir who made a special presentation.
