Images: Nigeria delegates at the ending dental amalgam summit in Thailand
The United Nations Environment Programme in conjunction with the World Alliance for Mercury-free Dentistry organised a two-day Global Campaign on Promoting Dental Amalgam Phase Down measures under the Minamata Convention and other initiatives, for “Especially Women, Children and Through Them, Future Generations” from 14 to 15 May, 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Nigeria delegate/team is represented by Mr. Charles Ikeah, Director of Pollution Control and Environmental Health of the Federal Ministry of Environment; Prof. Godwin Arotiba, immediate past Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) and Dr Leslie Adogame, Executive Director, SRADev Nigeria (focal point NGO).
The summit was held back-to-back with EEB/ZMWG, UNDP/SGP Asian Workshop Building Local to Global Coalitions for Chemicals and Waste Management towards Zero Mercury Use, Supply, Trade and Emissions – May 17-18, 2018, Bangkok, Thailand where Dr. Adogame served as a resource person.
