Businesses, governments, NGOs, arts and music organizations, academic institutions, and others can apply to host an affiliate event at the upcoming Global Climate Action Summit (September 12 to 14) in California this year.
The Summit will be co-hosted by California’s governor Edmund Brown, the chief of UN Climate Change Patricia Espinosa, UN special envoy for cities and climate change Michael Bloomberg and Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra.
The summit is designed to support nations to step up their ambition under the Paris Climate Change Agreement and to cut emissions on a science-based trajectory that limits warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius and as close as possible to 1.5 degree Celsius.
It also seeks to broaden the conversation around climate change and to depoliticize the issue, activating everyone to help preserve our common future.
Affiliate events can range from panel discussions and workshops to exhibits and installations.
Organizations are responsible for all logistics related to their event, including but not limited to sourcing their own venues, organizing the event, and covering any costs associated with the event.
The deadline to apply is April 13, 2018.
